Sneak Peak

The home of Chicago based designer Gabriel Fontes really speaks to me; the monochrome colour palette, the Gray Malin gallery wall expertly laid out, and the slick furniture and styling choices. LOVE it all, well almost all as I didn’t rate the kitchen so have skipped over that so as not to ruin my house stalking day dream! For more pictures head over to Homepolish.

Renovation Masterpiece

This Herne Bay home featured in Urbis Magazine demonstrates how to bring the love back to an older home that others may have torched!

The owners saw the potential in the bones of the 1970’s home and employed architects Tim Dorrington and Sam Atcheson of Dorrington Atcheson Architects to complete the renovation. They have managed to highlight the original features while seamlessly integrating the modern addition and allowing indoor / outdoor living to work harmoniously.

A pretty impressive transformation if you ask me.

Hard to Beat

I’m a fan of the Block NZ and am particularly enjoying the stylish interiors we have seen so far this year. Creative power couple Alex and Corban are definitely the ones to beat; they have bucket loads of style, a master plan for the house, and are winning challenges left, right and centre which equals more money in the bank for their build.

Their ability to create something incredibly stylish, that looks like it has walked off the pages of a home decor magazine, means I wasn’t overly surprised to learn that this isn’t their first building project. And when you see what they created out of some run-down shipping containers you’d be hard pressed to think that they haven’t got their names on the winners cheque already. Corban (who has an engineering background) designed the house with his surfing buddy (an architecture graduate).

Here it is folks, Alex and Corban’s first foray into home building, pretty ah-MAZING right?! And eco-friendly to boot.

Freakin Fantastic

I’m sure many of you are familiar with the amazing real estate website Fantastic Frank. Founded in Stockholm in 2010 and with a branch now open in Berlin their fresh philosophy to selling houses has created an almost cult following around the world.

Fantastic Frank hire photographers and stylists from the high-gloss industries, like interior design, fashion and architecture, to make every home look stylish and inviting. “Our goal with every styling is to coax a property’s potential glamor out of every dull corner, giving every inch of our portfolio a high-end makeover.” Sofie Ganeva, Chief Interior Stylist.

Instead of focusing on getting as many potential buyers as possible to want to purchase the home, they instead concentrate their efforts on finding that one person who really loves the house, and therefore can’t live without it. It’s true, you really do only need one person to fall in love with a home to sell it.

With such beautifully curated interiors and stunning photography, perusing the webpages of Fantastic Frank is like flicking through one of the best home magazines! It is definitely a place to stop by for inspiring, Scandinavian style homes.

Perhaps the realtors here in New Zealand could learn a thing or two from the guys and girls at Fantastic Frank?!

Below are some images from my current favourites on the market in Berlin and Stockholm.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone x

Sibella Court’s Abode

Australian super stylist, author, TV presenter and designer, Sibella Court is a vignette creating genius. This girl has got game when it comes to layering pieces and building displays of personal knick-knacks that bring character to a space.

So it’s no surprise that her own Sydney home demonstrates her abilities in bucket loads; you can clearly see why she has built such a strong reputation around the world. What might look like a jumbled mess to some is instead carefully curated collectables that bring an effortless Bohemian vibe to the self contained wing of the Bondi mansion she lives in with her partner and daughter.
