Impressed

I have to say Kim K that you really got it right this time with your wedding dress! Move over Vera Wang, Givenchy Haute Couture designer Riccardo Tisci created a breath-taking gown for the new Mrs West (hopefully third time lucky right Kim?!)

Some didn’t rate the panel at the front likening it to a bib, however I think it allowed the lace detailing and stunning shape of the gown to shine and I am so pleased she didn’t over do it this time with accessories, instead opting for a chic hair-do and minimal jewellery. Kanye has definitely groomed her well!

Not to be outdone, Poppy Delevingne who recently married her fiancé James Cook, looked stunning in her Chanel couture dress (King Karl (Lagerfeld) really can do no wrong). Poppy was another bride who opted for a demure hair style and minimal extras, allowing the dress to really steal the show.

And then Poppy and James went and got hitched a second time in Marrakech, Morocco! Ah-MAZING!!! This time she channeled a hippy vibe and wore a beautiful Emilio Pucci dress for the ceremony, before changing into a white crochet dress with bright coloured beading for the after party. Sounds like a rocking wedding week to me!

Book Love…

Super excited to add Chanel: The Vocabulary of Style  to our coffee table book collection this weekend! The pink protective sleeve ties in well with the colour on our Marimekko cushions. Unfortunately its rather large size means it doesn’t quite sit perfectly on my family silver tray, so I might need to find a new home for that (gives me an excuse to build a vignette with some new treasures somewhere else in the house!)

The images in the book are beautiful and document the vast history of photographers, models and designers that have worked with the brand to beat all brands.  It really is a bible of the classic Chanel style that is so desired the world over.

So now I have the book the next thing really must be a bag… A girl can dream!

Better than Good…

New Zealand model Ashleigh Good continues to rule the runways of Europe this season and has had the career highlight of closing the Chanel Haute Couture show as one of the brides. Ashleigh has impressed Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld so much that he even cast her in his most recent short film, a story about the early days of Coco Chanel that stars Keira Knightley.

Ashleigh has appeared on numerous magazine covers like Harpers Bazaar, Vogue Australia, Italia and Germany. She also features in the latest advertising campaigns for Chanel, Max Mara and Kate Sylvester and look books for Givenchy and Balenciaga.

It’s amazing to think of how quickly a kiwi girl who was discovered at a Mairangi Bay bus stop has risen to model super stardom! I love to see NZ’s doing so well on the world stage x
