On the 12th of January 2013 the sun beat down over Canterbury and I married my fabulous man Eli. The 35 degree day with not a breath of wind made for my dream courtyard reception where we had a relaxed cocktail style function for our 150 guests.
I had the most amazing experience planning my dream day and wouldn’t do anything differently! On this page you’ll find links to the wonderful people and services we used to create such a special wedding – I highly recommend all of them.
Louise Anderson Couture – I worked with Louise for over a year to design and create my beautiful gown. I LOVED the whole experience and my stunning dress.
Cossars wineshed in Taitapu – I fell in love with the french style courtyard complete with Olive Trees. It was perfect for the relaxed party feel we wanted to invoke and Janine and her team were a dream to work with.
As I come from a family of foodies this part of the wedding was really important to us. We chose to work with White Tie Catering and developed a food station style meal replacement. We picked three places close to our hearts and where we have fond travel memories – NZ, Asia and Spain, we then developed the menu for each station from there. The food was phenomenal – people are still talking about the salmon!!
Penny from Sweetpea Weddings not only created the beautiful bouquets and posies for the wedding she also set the whole look up on the day. This included table decoration, attaching mirrors and family portraits to the hedge area where the ceremony was held and many more styling details that helped create a look and feel special to us. It was such a relief to find someone who totally understood the point of difference I was hoping to achieve.
Just Deserts in Sydenham created our three tier wedding cake. The flavors we chose were chocolate raspberry, lemon and red velvet. It was so divine that there was nothing left – I didn’t even have a piece!
